You've found my virtual lily-pad. From here, you can jump off in many directions, since I like to use this place as a bit of a creative free-for-all. Here you can find:

• Samples of poetry and prose, both published and unpublished
• A collection of Whimsies, featuring a stuffed Wooly Mammoth and some seriously strange knitted objects
• My blog, where I write sporadically and unabashedly about diverse topics such as gay rights and weird hair.

I like to keep my creative life and my business life separate, so you won't see much about me professionally here. However, I work as a copy editor and a data-entry assistant on a freelance basis. A Propos de Marian:

Marian Firke studies at Swarthmore College and is an alumna of Choate Rosemary Hall. She enjoys theatre and visual arts, and has previously studied trapeze and other forms of aerial dance. Currently her creative streak is most expressed in sewing clothing and wearable art.

She has spent the last three years working within her school's GSA to promote understanding and happiness, as well as reaching out to other area schools to collaborate and share experiences.

Her favorite movie is Dr. Strangelove, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, and she does not enjoy long walks on the beach.
